Presented by Tim Clifford
The rise of AI has been well-documented, and much of it has been positive. For example, the benefits it could bring to business, streamlining processes, saving costs, saving time – we are all familiar with its benefits. However, like anything in life, there are already downsides to this new revolution: The AI candidate.
And what is an AI candidate? Harnessing the power of AI, candidates can now apply for multiple roles almost simultaneously, which is good for them but difficult for recruiters, as it increases the volume of applications. But the real danger is how AI works to promote each candidate.
The AI candidate will use AI-powered tools, such as ChatGPT, Bard, Claude or similar, to parse and extract relevant data from a candidate’s CV and automatically populate your application forms. So, as well as increasing the volume of applications, the process has just become algorithmic – and has the potential to remove utterly the opportunity for human judgement on both sides of the curtain. For you recruiters, you’ll look more and more to algorithms to filter and prioritise candidates as the flood of AI-generated applications grows and grows.
