On the company’s 12th birthday, 360 welcomed new CEO Janette Martin to lead the business forward. It’s an exciting time for all of us, as our company and its products continue to develop. We sat down for a chat with Janette to learn a little more about her – here’s what she had to say:

What excites you most about 360?
“There are so many exciting things about 360, if I were to pick just 2, I would have to start with the people. We have an incredibly passionate, committed and talented team of people, we have a culture at 360 that most organisations can only dream of having, I am so lucky to join such an inspiring team.
I have worked in the software industry for 24 years and have recruited hundreds or more positions; I wish I had come across 360 years ago! I genuinely believe 360 has the most exciting and innovative technology solutions that can transform the recruitment sector and help businesses attract and keep the best talent. I hope to help let the world know more about them!”
How would you describe your leadership style?
“I think the role of any leader is to inspire and bring out the best in their people, creating an environment for everyone to thrive. As a leader if we work with our people to create our business vision and goals and create a passion for how we achieve these and best outcomes for customers, colleagues and the business, we can collectively be incredibly successful and always celebrate that success. This is important to me each and every day, and I know I am still learning, every day is an opportunity!”
What do you think will be the biggest challenge for HR post-COVID?
“Biggest challenges for HR going forward are recruitment and staff retention. I believe companies have to digitise their recruitment process, the old ways are well and truly gone and candidates want a positive, modern experience and any company wants efficiency and ability to attract the right candidates at the outset.
Organisations need to clearly promote their EVP and benefits of the company, there is so much competition in the marketplace, flexible working, benefits and career development are so important to candidates today. I also believe organisations need to be doing more than ever to retain their best people. Everything from an exceptional induction experience through to having a consistent pulse on employee engagement, employee morale and skills development. Here at 360 I can see that these are all things we understand and want to help and support every business to find a better way.”
What’s one thing you love outside of work that would surprise your colleagues?
“I love Formula 1, I would love to go to the Monaco Grand Prix and mingle in the pit like you see on TV one day!“
What would be your eight desert island discs?
“Madonna – Into the groove – I was a huge Madonna fan growing up, any Madonna song would do!!
Cold Play – Adventure of a lifetime – Saw Coldplay in concert in Chicago a few years ago and been hooked ever since, this song with the dancing monkeys makes me want to jump up and dance with them!
One Republic – Counting Stars – Big fan of One Republic and was actually the last concert my husband and I saw before lockdown started – 10th March 2020 would you believe!!
Wham – I’m your Man! – I loved Wham growing up, anything Wham or George Michael actually and this song in particular reminds me of my mam – there’s a long story to that one!
Faith Hill – There you’ll be – I just think this is a beautiful song and gives you a moment to pause and think about anyone you’ve loved and lost and remember how much they meant to you as a true inspiration in your life
Keala Settle – This is Me – I love The Greatest Showman, and this song was around at a particular time when I wasn’t feeling particularly settled in a work position and this really helped me to remember to be confident about myself – particularly when played really loud alone in the car!
The Killers – Somebody Told me – just a great song to sing out loud and lift your mood!
Wish you Well – Sigala – It’s my 9 year old son’s favourite song of the moment so it would remind me of him!”
What would be your luxury item if marooned on a desert island?
“My pillow – can’t get a good night’s sleep without a super comfy pillow!”
What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone starting their career in tech?
“I’d give 2 pieces of advice: try everything, take on extra responsibilities, learn as much as you can, try different roles in your organisation to gain experience and find out what your real passion is. I would also say find someone in the organisation that you can learn from, ask questions and have as a mentor. These are the key things that made such a difference in my first few years.”
