In partnership with Imagine If Trust, Talos360 have raised over £5,400 to support the construction of medical facilities in the Congo (DRC). The project aims to improve quality of life for over 15,000 people living in extreme poverty in the DRC – providing healthcare and education facilities for those in need.
Why is the project so important?
Violence in the DRC has displaced over 3 million people nationwide, forcing many of them into conditions of extreme poverty. There are very few opportunities for Internally Displaced People (IDPs) in the Congo to access affordable healthcare and education, making Imagine If’s project a vital step in securing a better future for those in need.
The project is based in Kasindi, an urbanisation of around 50,000 people close to the country’s border with Uganda. The area has seen over 4,000 IDPs from surrounding areas seek refuge in recent years, with just one small hospital attempting to meet their needs.
Over the next 3 years, the project seeks to secure a better quality of life for those facing extreme poverty in the area – reducing infant mortality rate, malnutrition, and improving the lives of displaced people. This will be achieved by providing affordable healthcare, community-based clinics, and patient education.

Imagine If have partnered with New Hope to construct a medical centre in the area, which has, over the past two years, treated more than 5,400 patients – an average of 226 every month. The clinic has so far supported 362 antenatal cases – including 163 deliveries with 0 deaths.
The medical centre opened in 2018, with the addition of showers, toilets, a kitchen, and dormitories completed in 2020. Phase three of the project will see the construction of an operating theatre, staff room, teaching area, and water supply to the centre.
