After being named North West CEO of the Year, Talos360 Chief Executive Officer Janette Martin was invited to be the headline speaker at TheBusinessDesk.com’s Women in Business Lunch at Cloud 23, The Hilton.
Speaking in front of a sold-out audience of aspiring businesswomen, Janette shared career advice and her experiences as a successful woman in business.
The networking event attracted a talented group of female professionals from across the North West. After a complimentary lunch, Janette joined in conversation with TheBusinessDesk.com’s Journalist Michael Taylor to discuss her experience as a woman in business, driving success at Talos360, celebrating being the Best Workplace in Tech 2024 and the importance of championing a diverse workforce at Talos360.

During the interview, Janette spoke highly of her time at Sage and her experience as a businesswoman from the North East.
Janette also highlighted the importance of working with other respected women in business throughout her career, including mentor and good friend Vin Murria, founder of Advanced Computer Software.

Speaking about her time at Talos360, Janette shared her experience meeting Talos360’s founder Stephen Rundell, her first glimpse into the now award-winning culture at Talos360, and how joining the organisation was “an opportunity too exciting to pass up.”
When asked how to maintain a successful company culture within an expanding business, Janette expressed the importance of being transparent, authentic, and direct when communicating with your people and that conveying “the part your people play within the business” is crucial to building a thriving workplace culture.
Finally, Janette delivered insight on how Talos360 received recognition as the Best Workplace in Tech 2024. Janette spoke about the importance of career progression and a passion for fulfilling people’s potential. Janette added that through vertical and sideways promotions, Talos360 has invested in its people and built an engaged, diverse workforce capable of achieving anything.
